hi christian,
me and mhamed fixed the things. i had some packages still from debian
sitting around which broke pretty nicely. had to remove the packages
first and then recompile
now it works.

The log looks fine. Are you sure you are picking up the new
lou_translate? What does `which lou_translate` say or `lou_translate
--version`? The path to the tables is sort of baked into the library at
compile time, so if you pick up an old lou_translate you could be using
an old table.
