  Art,
After all these years of secretly wanting an Alpa--you have successfully
crushed it all in one email. And I thought I had troubles with the Rolleiflex
2000 system. I will stick with my Leica R system--my wife will be soooo happy.
  Thanks for the info,
  Jack

    In reference to ALPA's, (AAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!),

I once had a 9D, which went back to Heitz repair NINE TIMES!!

Finally, Carl Heitz himself came down to Knoxville, TN to pay a visit to Ed
Thompson, of thompson Photo Products.

Ed told Mr. Heitz about all of the troubles that I had with the camera and
Mr. Heitz, hand carried the camera back to his offices and made sure that it
was properly repaired.

All it took was a complete replacement of all of the circuits in the
camera!!

After I got my 9d back, I used it for about two years, but it was never the
same.

I divested myself of the camera and numerous adapters including Nikon &
Leica. I sold it to my daughter's Pediatrician, who knew fair well the history
of the camera, but he had always wanted an ALPA for his collection so he bought
it from me. He still has it after 10 years and has never used it once!!
