I wish I had thought to suggest check the battery!
Since they'll have to pry my R lenses from my cold dead hands! All I can
suggest for an alternative to the Summicron your boss has from my end is that
if you're in West Michigan, email me and we can go shooting together.

They were brand new, so I can't think that would be it.
I can only think it might have been something to do with that specific
lens and how it communicated with the camera, but until my boss
decides to buy another lens and (shock!) actually *use* the camera
there's no way for me to tell...
