Andy

I have the ColorVision Spyder as well as PrintFix for making printer profiles. Unlike Doug, I have found the Sypder does a pretty good job for me as far as profiling my monitor. If I make a print on my Epson printer, it matches the screen quite well IF I AM USING EPSON PAPER.....! My problem is that I like the Kodak paper better, and I LOVE the Ilford Gallerie papers even better. I wasted lots of time and money trying to get the PrintFix system to give me acceptable results with any of my papers. Nothing looked remotely like the screen image. One day in frustration, I tried to print on Espon paper telling PhotoShop NOT to use any printer profiles and then setting my printer to Automatic and photo paper and it works quite well. That is how I know the monitor must be farily well calibrated since it matches the built in Espon printer/paper profiles in the driver. Now, if only I could get the Ilford paper to work. I have been communicating with ColorVision and hopefully I can get this worked out.

So, I can recommend the monitor calibration Spyder, but not the printer profile system yet.

Is anybody out there using color management software either Monaco or Colorsync. Whats your feel about either of these two tools? Are they worth the investment? And do they work?
