Hi Linda!

Ed did not ask for it. Aram suggested it, and I seconded the idea, as I used one with my Canons.... after Aram suggested it to me and I found it very helpful.

It is a magnifying eyepiece, made by Nikon.  See:

Why do you need it...?

You need it only if you are using a Canon camera, and are having trouble focusing Manual Focus lenses (such as Leica -R lenses) on it.
