Hi Marc :-) graphic designer eh? Well those are some of my favorite kinds of people. I worked for 3years in the student promotions office at my university as the photographer for the school magazine. Mostly I copped a desk and hung out there between classes and became the twenty something old guy mascot :-) with the artists and designers working there making signs, posters, etc for student organizations. Good times. I had a thought about the cropping you're doing with your 5D images: Have you considered getting a focus screen with cropping marks on it? I believe Canon has one with reticle marks in fixed locations and the Katz Eye folks, iirc, will let you order one with custom crop marks and even order an integrated manual focus assist device. Don't know if that would be helpful for you, but can't know unless I share it!
