Thank you, Philippe - I know that normally I shouldn't comment on shortcomings of a photo, but in the blog, I wanted to point out the shortcoming of the camera. If mirror-lockup were implemented more "normally" on the E-330, I could have caught the moment better. And imagine how frustrated I would have been with the way Olympus does mirror-lockup if the fisherman had actually caught a fish -- very small probability, I know . . . Another interesting footnote to the photograph - when I saw what the early evening light was doing, I pulled off the nearest freeway exit north of Eugene, Oregon Alpenglow was lighting Mt Hood to the east with the river (Willamette, I think) in the foreground, and I furiously set up tripod and telephoto. But TOO LATE! Clouds closed over the mountain before I could get off a shot. However the setting sun made beautiful back light in the other direction. With everything set on the camera and tripod for the mountain shot I had just missed, all I had to do was position the camera a few feet away and shoot the river scene. A minute later the boat moved away for happier hunting grounds, but not before I got the shot. Don't let the photo you missed disappoint you from looking for the next one, sometimes just a couple feet away!
