Hi Art, and everyone else. first test series with the cannibalised Exakta/Topcon/M42/Canon 20D Hybrid close-up lens. If the out of focus background (and foreground) is what people mean by bokeh, then this combo is, IMO, bloody fantastic!!!! I personally find the effect stupendous, absolutely perfect for flower shots!! Looks as if it performs best at f8, but I think the other apertures are quite usable. Start here, and click along the next shots: http://gallery.leica-users.org/New-Old-Pictures/MG_2872_f1_8 There may be some wind movement causing slight oof effects, it's cool, breezy and overcast today. I find this crop absolutely gob-smacking http://gallery.leica-users.org/New-Old-Pictures/MG_2874_f8_crop The construction is : Auto Topcor 1,8/58mm, connected to an Exakta mount, connected to the barrel of an M42 Auto Teleplus converter with the optics removed, then attached to the 20D with an M42/EOS adapter. I tried leaving the optics in and adjusting the whole thing to infinity focus - after 2 shots I decided to forget it, I might just as well have used the bottom of a beer bottle as a lens. cheers Douglas NATSTEK@xxxxxxx wrote: >OUTSTANDING!! >Art > > >------ >Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: > http://www3.telus.net/~telyt/lrflex.htm >Archives are at: > www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/ > > > > ------ Unsubscribe or change to/from Digest Mode at: http://www3.telus.net/~telyt/lrflex.htm Archives are at: www.freelists.org/archives/leicareflex/
