Hi all,Some more scans from July/August 1993: the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
The "Statsraad Lemkuhl" at anchor off Newcastle at night. WE booked an evening trip on the last preserved coastal pleasure steamer in the UK, the "Balmoral" - it was almost complete darkness when we got out to this 3-master. Converted to sepia to cover up for lack of colour quality on the original slide - removing the strong blue cast removed just about everything else too.

http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/UK/tyne/Mir0299scan-Edit-2.jpg.html The Mir again: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/UK/tyne/Mir0303scan.jpg.htmlThis looks like the Sedov, but it may be the Tovarisch, it was too far away to read the name
http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/UK/tyne/Sedov0301scan-Edit.jpg.html Definitely the Sedov this time, reefing in the mainsails http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/UK/tyne/Sedov0302scan-Edit.jpg.htmlThe "Sedov" and the "Eeendracht" and some of the crowds lining Tynemouth pier
http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/UK/tyne/Tyneside0260scan.jpg.html The "Sedov" passing the North Light at Tynemouth http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/UK/tyne/Tyneside0297scan.jpg.html The "Mir" at North Shields http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/DMS/UK/tyne/Tyneside0296scan.jpg.htmlSome of these are pretty rotten quality, partly due to the weather at the time and partly due to age (16 years old) and inappropriate storage.
Hope you enjoy viewing them anyway. Cheers Douglas
