Fuji X-E1 (recently lowered price, to $799 for body alone) plus Fuji X-Pro 1
M-Mount Adapter ($199).

The X-E1 is a mirrorless camera with an APS-C sensor and rangefinder size and
feel, clear, sharp EVF with focus magnifier and brightness adjustment (to focus
stopped down if you want), live view operation, and (wonder of wonders) knobs
and dials alongside menus for camera control. The M-Mount adapter allows you to
choose 6 preset lens profiles for your Leica 21, 24, 28, and 35mm lenses.

It's been very well reviewed, out for over a year, and the Fuji 18-55mm kit
lens seems to be excellent.

That's what I plan to purchase for a small, photographically-excellent camera
to use my M-lens collection.
