Greetings All:
On 18 June 2016 I completed the Dougherty BBS. This route is entirely in
Floyd County, running from a point just south of Dougherty westward almost
to the Floyd/Hale County line, at one point jogging southward to cross
White River. The route was squishy in several spots due to recent rains
but was doable without, for a pleasant change, and delays caused by having
to work around playas over the route.
In general, there seems to be some good, solid drought recovery going on
with good numbers of ducks, Northern Bobwhite, Cattle Egret, Black-crowned
Night Heron, White-faced Ibis, Swainson's Hawk, Western Kingbird, Horned
Larks, Lark Sparrow, Grasshopper Sparrow, and Dickcissel.
