The critical issues are wind (of course) and how smooth the floor really is - these landsailers don't move so well over pits and valleys. Size doesn't really matter unless you have the wind (fans) to cover the space. I'd say Whitman fits the bill just fine. Sailors, The Sailing Through School board of directors is trying to make a decision that might change when and where our June event will be. Option 1: Keep it at Whitman (indoor sailing) on June 10th Pros: we have the gym reserved and it is already on people's calendars, we know fan sailing works in the gym, everyone knows where Whitman is. Cons: One team cannot make June 10th, UW Sailing Team mostly unavailable to race against us. Option 2: Move it to a hanger (indoor sailing) at Sand Point on a weekday afternoon/evening (Tuesday or Wednesday - probably June 6th,7th,13th, or 14th) Pros: It is a HUGE indoor space with smooth floors (larger courses? more boats sailing?), UW Sailing Team can probably come sail against us, it will show students Sail Sand Point where they can do "real" sailing, we will find out if the hanger is suitable for events next year. Cons: we would have to notify everyone of the change, we don't know if it will be better or worse than Whitman, we need to find $100-$200 to rent it. What is your gut reaction? Your 2 cents is helpful. Hope to see you tomorrow for practice (Whitman 10 am - 1 pm). Todd Staheli
