Version 11
KURZWEIL EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF KURZWEIL 1000 VERSION 11.
For immediate release. Bedford, MA - November 8, 2006 - Kurzweil
Educational Systems, Inc. (www.kurzweiledu.com), a member of Cambium
LearningTM Technologies, announces the exciting release of Kurzweil 1000TM
Version 11, which will ship to customers later this month. Version 11
features expand on Kurzweil 1000's already extensive list of reading,
writing, editing, and study support tools.
The new release offers innovative features that increase user independence,
productivity, and access. Most notable among the new features are the
software's Forms Recognition capability, Audible Appointment Calendar, and
support for bookmarks and notes for documents in any supported file format.
"Version 11 represents our commitment to developing new features our
customers ask for and to redefining the genre of reading software in the
process," said Stephen Baum, Vice President of Engineering, Kurzweil
Educational Systems. "You can implement the most advanced technology into a
product, but unless it's designed with the end-user's needs in mind, it will
fall flat. Kurzweil 1000 is a careful integration of the latest technology
implemented toward distinct user benefits."
Other new program features allow users to insert scanned signatures into
documents, create CDs within the program, scan and recognize within
Microsoft Word, play audio files, and link their preferred settings to new
documents automatically. To learn more about Version 11, visit
