Some of their albums are hopelessly mastered. CA being one of them. Ringo
had blisters on his fingers, I get fatigue in my ears, trying to listen to
those albums, sadly.

The question I have is why is is the "Clockwork Angels" CD sound so bad?
Don't they listen to this stuff after "mastering" the recordings.

The high end is atrocious.

Why can't we get sound like "A Farewell To Kings" on a current CD?

I don't get it.

Very disappointing!

With the advent of Facebook, I do agree it's rather rare that I think of
posting in here... S:^(

I hope they bake those tapes before they play them...

The seller has several of these tapes up for auction. They seem to be safety
copies of copies that were brought in to a certain radio station... So my
guess is these are actually third or fourth generation copies, at best. I've
yet to listen to a 15 ips master, but for a while a certain online company
was offering 15 IPS copies from (allegedly) the original studio masters
(mostly classical, though The Band's "Stage Fright" had snuck in there).
$300 for a set of master copies... Gotta love high fidelity sound(!).

Although my favorite Rush album would be Hemispheres, I'm curious as to how
these early recordings would compare to recent Hi-res remastered FLACs,
Glen (aka Barney Rubble)
