Richie Hayward, drummer and founding member of Little Feat, has died
from complications of liver cancer. He was 64.
Hayward started the band in 1969. He also played as a session drummer
and performed live with artists including Eric Clapton, Ry Cooder,
James Cotton, The Doobie Brothers, Bob Dylan, Peter Frampton, Buddy
Guy, Arlo Guthrie, Tom Waits,and Warren Zevon.
He'd been diagnosed with liver cancer in August 2009 and was without
health insurance. Little Feat were raising money to offset his
treatment costs through benefit concerts and online fundraisers. - AP
