der Welt, Toyota, hält auch in Zukunft an seiner Doppelstrategie fest und setzt
auf Hybrid und Brennstoffzelle. "Wir lassen uns von der elektrischen Euphorie

Honda plant neues Werk in China
Honda plant ein neues Werk in China, in dem von 2019 an Pkw gefertigt werden
sollen. Damit soll die Produktion um etwa ein Fünftel gesteigert werden, wie
zwei Insider mitteilen. Honda und die Dongfeng Motor Group erleben mit ihrem
Joint Venture in diesem Jahr bislang ein explosives Wachstum in China mit einer

Hyundai erhält Bank-Lizenz in Europa
Hyundai will sein Europa-Geschäft mit der neuen Hyundai Capital Bank Europe
(HCBE) für die Autofinanzierung stärken. Der Autokonzern wird die Arbeit in
seiner Bankzentrale in Frankfurt im kommenden Dezember aufnehmen, teilte
Hyundai Capital Services am 17. Oktober mit. Mit der HCBE soll der Verkauf von

China will Hersteller von Niedergeschwindigkeits-Stromern legalisieren
China schließt eine regulatorische Lücke: Das Land will damit beginnen,
Niedergeschwindigkeits-Elektrofahrzeuge zu überwachen. Damit legitimiert die
Volksrepublik ein vor allem in den ländlichen Gegenden verbreitetes
Marktsegment, das die Verkäufe herkömmlicher Batterie-Elektroautos in den
Schatten stellt. Die Regierung wird jene Hersteller legalisieren, die die
Normen für Elektroauto-Start-ups erfüllen und sie entsprechend dieser
Anforderungen regulieren. Für den Rest will sie technische Spezifikationen
erlassen, um die Verkehrssicherheit und den Umweltschutz zu verbessern.

Continental-Aktie fällt wegen Gewinnwarnung
Die Aktien von Continental sind am 18. Oktober auf den niedrigsten Wert seit
drei Monaten gesunken. Der Automobilzulieferer hatte zuvor seine
Gewinnerwartung aufgrund von höheren Kosten für Forschung und Entwicklung
gekürzt. Dem Unternehmen zufolge wird das Ergebnis unter 390 Millionen Euro aus
Garantiefällen für unspezifizierte Produkte sowie möglichen Ausgaben für

Toyota defies the electric euphoria
While everybody at the Paris Motor Show spoke about the battery car, paving the
way for the electric revolution, the largest of all automakers, Toyota, said it
will stick to its double-pronged strategy, relying on hybrids and fuel cells.
"We won't get affected by the electric euphoria," said Karl Schlicht, head of
marketing and sales at Toyota Motor Europe. He explained the decision by
pointing to what he considers a still unresolved cost problem of electric

Daimler and Deutsche Bahn have said that they halted their carsharing
cooperation, pointing to technical difficulties. The two companies explained
that they will review these problems by the end of the year and decide about

Honda Motor plans to build a new factory in China that will manufacture

Hyundai obtains banking license in Europe
Hyundai plans to strengthen its European business by creating the new Hyundai
Capital Bank Europe (HCBE) for car financing. The automotive group will
commence its activities in its banking center in Frankfurt in December, Hyundai

China to grant low-speed electric car producers legal status
China plans to plug a regulatory gap and start overseeing low-speed electric
vehicles used mainly in the country's rural areas, legitimizing a market
segment that dwarfs sales of regular battery-electric cars. The government will
legalize manufacturers that meet the standards governing EV startups and
regulate them under those requirements, while enacting technical specifications
for the rest, in a bid to improve road safety and the environmental protection.

Continental drops as profit warning sparks R&D worries
Shares in Continental dropped to their lowest level in more than three months
on October 18 after the German automotive supplier cut its profit guidance for
the year, partly due to an increase in research and development spending. The
