Siemens und Valeo kooperieren
Der deutsche Technikkonzern Siemens und der französische Automobilzulieferer
Valeo tun sich zusammen, um Motoren für Elektro- und Hybridautos herzustellen.
Das gaben die Unternehmen am 18. April in einer gemeinsamen Mitteilung bekannt.
Das Joint Venture wird in Erlangen ansässig sein und Produktionsstätten in
Frankreich, Norwegen, Polen, Ungarn und China haben. Es soll noch vor Ende

Produktion des Renegade in China beginnt
Jeep hat die Produktion des Renegade in China aufgenommen. Der Vorstoß ist Teil
des Plans von Fiat Chrysler, die Marke in der Volksrepublik und global stärker
zu positionieren. "Heute haben wir einen wichtigen Schritt in unserer Strategie
getan, die globale Präsenz der Marke Jeep auszuweiten", erklärte Konzernchef

Magna soll neues Elektroauto von Apple in Graz bauen
Apple plant einem Bericht der "Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung" zufolge, sein
neues Elektroauto iCar bei Magna in Graz fertigen zu lassen. Bereits vor einem
Jahr hatten Medien berichtet, dass Apple-Manager in Graz gewesen seien, um mit
Magna über die Herstellung eines Elektrofahrzeugs zu sprechen. Weder Apple noch
Magna wollten sich dazu äußern. Nach Informationen der "FAZ" soll das iCar 2019
oder 2020 als Kleinwagen erscheinen und zum Carsharing angeboten werden.

Elektrobit forciert Autosar-Entwicklung
Der Softwarespezialist Elektrobit erweitert sein internationales Netzwerk
spezialisierter Entwicklungsbüros mit zwei neuen Niederlassungen in Timisoara

Toyota may lose 277 million dollars this quarter
Toyota Motor may see its operating profit fall by about 30 billion yen (277
million dollars) for the current quarter after a series of earthquakes struck
southern Japan and disrupted parts supplies to the world's largest automaker,

Siemens and Valeo to cooperate
German engineering corporation Siemens and French automotive supplier Valeo are
teaming up to make engines for electric and hybrid cars, the companies said in
a joint statement on April 18. The joint venture will have headquarters in
Erlangen, Germany and facilities in France, Norway, Poland, Hungary and China
and is to become operational before the end of the year. The two partners did

Production of Renegade in China starts
Jeep has started producing the Renegade in China, in a move that is part of
Fiat Chrysler's plan to better position the brand both in China and globally.
"Today is an important step in our strategy to expand the Jeep brand's global
presence," said Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne in a statement. "Equally
important," the launch "represents a further strengthening of the joint
enterprise with our respected and valuable partner here in China, the GAC

Magna to build Apple's electric car in Graz - report
Apple plans to partner with Magna to produce its new electric iCar in Graz,
Austria, according to "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung". Media had already
reported a year ago that Apple managers were in Graz to talk to Magna about
manufacturing an electric vehicle. Both Apple and Magna declined to comment on
the matter. The newspaper has learned that the iCar is set to be launched as a
small car in 2019 or 2020 and to be offered as a carsharing vehicle.

Elektrobit presses ahead with Autosar development
Software specialist Elektrobit (EB) is expanding its international network of
specialized design offices, adding two new international locations: Timisoara,
Romania, and Bangalore, India. In the course of the expansion, the Continental
subsidiary will hire up to 80 additional developers. With these additional
resources and developers, the company plans to support the current development
of its EB tresos control unit software and expand its efforts in the next
