BMW-Chef Krüger gegen Trumps Strafzölle
Im Interview spricht BMW-Chef Harald Krüger über die Beziehung zu den USA und
die Ankündigung von US-Präsident Donald Trump, Strafzölle gegen deutsche
Autobauer zu erheben. 411.000 Geländewagen seien von BMW allein im vergangenen
Jahr in den USA produziert worden und deren Export umfasse ein Volumen von rund
10 Milliarden Dollar. Zudem würden dort direkt und indirekt 70.000 Menschen
beschäftigt, was verdeutliche, dass die USA vom freien Welthandel und von BMW

Ford stellt Autoteile mit 3D-Drucker her
Ford experimentiert mit dem Stratasys Infinite Build 3D-Drucker, um Autoteile
zu produzieren, die leichter und billiger sind als ihre gusseisernen Pendants.
Das Unternehmen will die Technologie für Kleinserienfahrzeuge wie die der
Rennsparte nutzen. Der Ansaugkrümmer des Prototypenwagens Chip Ganassi Racing
Daytona, der im Jahr 2015 das 24-Stunden-Rennen in Daytona gewann, war eines

Stahlpreise: Zulieferern drohen Lieferprobleme

BMW CEO Krüger against Trump's punitive tariffs
In an interview, BMW CEO Harald Krüger spoke about the company's relationship
with the U.S. and the plans by U.S. president Donald Trump to introduce
punitive tariffs against German automakers. As many as 411,000 SUVs were
produced by BMW in the U.S. last year alone, representing an export volume of

Ford taps 3-D printing to forge key parts
Ford is experimenting with the Stratasys Infinite Build 3D printer for the
production of car parts that are lighter and cheaper than their cast-metal
counterparts. The company plans to utilize the technology for low-volume
vehicles such as those in its racing programs. The intake manifold of the Chip
Ganassi Racing Daytona prototype car that won the 2015 24 Hours of Daytona race

Steel prices: suppliers may face delivery problems
Companies in the sheet forming industry fear supply problems due to rising
steel prices. The rapid cost increases result in 1.5 million euros of

EU plans to help car industry build battery factories
The European Commission promises the automotive industry to help finance the
building of battery factories for EVs. "The European automotive industry has to

to raise the market share of zero emissions cars to 20 percent by 2030 for

Electrolux acquires drinks-machine manufacturer
Electrolux said it acquired Grindmaster-Cecilware, a leading U.S.-based
manufacturer of hot, cold and frozen beverage dispensing equipment, including

dollars in 2016 and approximately 200 employees. The takeover broadens the
Swedish appliance manufacturer's scope in its food service business and will
accelerate its growth in the professional products sector.

Panasonic is spicing up the Indian washing machine market with a unit that
boasts a special button: "curry." The Japanese electronics company hopes that a
machine specially designed to remove curry stains will allow it to challenge
