Toyota bringt Roboter Kirobo Mini 2017 auf den Markt
Der führende japanische Autohersteller Toyota startet einen neuen Versuch, mit
Robotern Kunden außerhalb des klassischen Fahrzeugmarktes zu gewinnen. Im
kommenden Jahr bringt Toyota in Japan den Roboter Kirobo Mini heraus, wie das
Unternehmen am 4. Oktober auf der Elektronikmesse Ceatec in Ciba in der Nähe
von Tokio mitteilte. Die rund zehn Zentimeter große Maschine soll die
Intelligenz eines Fünfjährigen haben und den Gemütszustand seiner Eigentümer am

ZF Friedrichshafen zieht sein 5,29 Milliarden Kronen (610 Millionen Dollar)

Key Safety Systems plant Japan-Expansion mit Fokus auf Airbags
Der US-Autoteilehersteller Key Safety Systems hat am 5. Oktober angekündigt,
seinen Umsatz in Japan bis 2020 verdoppeln zu wollen. Das Unternehmen will neue
Airbag-Kunden gewinnen, nachdem viele Autohersteller aufgehört haben, die von
dem angeschlagenen Zulieferer Takata produzierten Airbag-Gasgeneratoren zu

Chinesischer Zulieferer baut Werk für Innenverkleidung in Rumänien
Ningbo Huaxiang Electronics hat mit Hib Rolem Trim eine Absichtserklärung über
den Bau einer 30 Millionen Dollar teuren Fabrik in Rumänien unterzeichnet. Das
teilte Invest Romania, eine Organisation für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung, mit.
Anfang nächsten Jahres wollen die Partner mit der Konstruktion der 15.000

Westfalia-Automotive hat den Verkauf der Westfalia-Automotive-Gruppe an Horizon

gebracht. Zugleich überlässt Bernd Welzel mit sofortiger Wirkung die Leitung
des Unternehmens Paul Caruso, dem Vorsitzenden der Geschäftsführung für die

Japan's leading automaker Toyota plans to launch a robot named Kirobo Mini in
Japan next year, in a renewed bid to win customers outside of the classic
automotive market by means of robots. The machine is about 10 cm tall, has the
intelligence of a five-year old kid and is able to recognize the mood of its
owner by interpreting facial expressions, the company said at the Ceatec

ZF drops Haldex takeover bid after investors spurn lower offer
ZF Friedrichshafen is dropping its 5.29 billion-krona (610 million dollars)
offer to buy Haldex AB after failing to achieve its target of 50 percent
acceptance from the Swedish truck-brake manufacturer's shareholders. The bid's
failure opens the way for German competitor Knorr-Bremse to take over Haldex at

Continental buys stakes in specialist companies
Continental is strengthening its technology competence through two targeted
acquisitions. The automotive supplier has acquired Hoosier Racing Tire, a

planned to double revenue in Japan by 2020 by winning over new air bag
customers as many automakers have stopped using air bag inflators made by

five bidders offering a financial lifeline to help Takata bear the costs of a
massive global recall of its exploding air bags, people with knowledge of the

Chinese supplier to build 30 million dollar interior trim plant in Romania
Ningbo Huaxiang Electronics has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hib
Rolem Trim to construct a 30 million dollar factory in Romania, according to
Invest Romania, an economic development organization. Early next year, the
partners are set to begin construction of the 15,000 square meter facility,
which will launch production in 2019. The factory will employ 265 people.

Horizon Global concludes Westfalia-Automotive purchase
Westfalia-Automotive has concluded the sale of Westfalia-Automotive Group to
Horizon Global, a U.S. manufacturer of towing and trailering equipment. Paul
Caruso, head of Horizon Global's European, African and Latin American
activities, is to succeed Bernd Welzel as CEO of the company with immediate
effect. However, Welzel is expected to support the phase of integration until
