Daimler will die Effekte des Elektroauto-Umbruchs auf die Arbeitsplätze mit
flexibler Produktion abmildern. Die Werke sollen nach und nach so umgebaut
werden, dass sie auf einer Linie sowohl Autos mit Verbrennungsmotoren
produzieren können als auch solche mit alternativen Antrieben, erklärte Markus
Schäfer, Produktionschef von Mercedes-Benz, am 7. März auf dem Genfer
Autosalon. Ein neues Modell soll auf der Produktionslinie des Fahrzeugs

Hyundai streicht freiem Handel die Garantie
Hyundai will Fahrzeugen, die über den freien Handel verkauft werden, künftig
keine Fünf-Jahres-Garantie mehr gewähren. Das geht aus einem
Informationsschreiben des Herstellers an nicht-autorisierte Händler hervor, das
der "Automobilwoche" vorliegt. Der Bundesverband freier Kfz-Händler (BVfK)
wehrt sich gegen Hyundais Vorstoß und hält dieses Vorgehen für "rechtlich sehr
bedenklich", heißt es in einem Antwortschreiben an den Autobauer. Der Verband

Der japanische Klimaanlagenbauer Daikin Industries hat im dritten Quartal einen

einem Prozent gegenüber dem Vorjahreszeitraum. Der Nettogewinn stieg um neun

Paul Fang, Chairman und Präsident von Midea, hat sich dem Management-Team von
Toshiba Lifestyle Products & Services angeschlossen, einer Tochtergesellschaft

Jahr 2016 erworben hat. Mit dem ungewöhnlichen Schritt signalisierte Fang, dass
die chinesische Gruppe offenkundig über mögliche Kollateralschäden aus dem

Daimler plans to cushion e-car transition with flexible production
Daimler wants to cushion the impact of the electric vehicle transition with
flexible production. Its factories are to be gradually remodeled in a way that
ensures that both cars with combustion engines and cars with other engines can
be built on a single production line, said Markus Schäfer, head of production
at Mercedes-Benz, at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7. A new model is set to be
produced on the production line of the same car that it might replace in the

Hyundai cancels warranty for independent car dealers
Hyundai plans to stop granting five-year warranties for cars sold via
independent dealers, "Automobilwoche" has learned from a letter the automaker
sent to non-authorized dealers. The German association of free car dealers
(BVfK) has criticized Hyundai's plans. According to the BVfK, Hyundai's move is
very questionable from a legal point of view, the letter with which the
association has replied to the automaker reads. The association demands the

ZF Friedrichshafen is implementing a whole bundle of solutions from provider
PTC in the areas Internet of Things (IoT), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

Discount supermarket chain Aldi Nord and refrigeration and heating systems
manufacturer Viessmann are rolling out a new cooling and heating system
employing propane heat pumps, ice storage and photovoltaics. The sustainable

cooperation with the Essen-based discount supermarket company, will be employed
