Nissan schließt Mitsubishi-Übernahme ab
Nissan hat am 20. Oktober mitgeteilt, einen Mehrheitsanteil an Mitsubishi
übernommen zu haben und den Vorstandsvorsitzenden zu behalten, um die Erholung
des Unternehmens von einem Verbrauchsbetrugs-Skandal sicherzustellen.
Umgerechnet 2,29 Milliarden Dollar hat Nissan demnach investiert, um einen
34-prozentigen Anteil an Mitsubishi zu erhalten. Damit ist der Konzern nun der

Tesla baut Technik für autonomes Fahren in alle Autos ein

erhielten künftig acht Kameras statt bisher einer, Ultraschall- und
Radar-Sensoren mit höherer Reichweite und Auflösung sowie 40 Mal mehr
Rechenleistung im Computer, kündigte Tesla-Chef Elon Musk in der Nacht zum 20.

Autoliv investiert in Testzentrum
Der amerikanisch-schwedische Automobilzulieferer Autoliv intensiviert seine
Aktivitäten im Bereich aktiver Sicherheitssysteme: Auf einem früheren Flugplatz
der US-Air-Force in der Nähe von Würzburg installierte das Unternehmen ein
Testzentrum, um seine Produkte in realen Fahrsituationen erproben zu können.
Das Gelände wird zudem für Kunden-Präsentationen genutzt.

Altran übernimmt Benteler Engineering Services
Der französische Entwicklungsdienstleister Altran kauft die Sparte Engineering
Services von Benteler. Altran stellt sich derzeit in Deutschland neu auf und
erhofft sich von der Übernahme eine deutliche Verstärkung sowie eine Steigerung
des Marktanteils hierzulande. Zu den Kunden von Benteler zählen sowohl
Autohersteller als auch große Zulieferer, beispielsweise BMW, Volkswagen,

Trumpf baut Geschäft mit 3D-Druck aus
Der Werkzeugmaschinenbauer Trumpf stärkt sein Geschäft mit Maschinen für
3D-Druck. In dem bis Juni 2017 laufenden Geschäftsjahr würden 100 neue Stellen
am Firmensitz in Ditzingen für den Bereich "additive manufacturing" geschaffen,
teilte Firmenchefin Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller am 19. Oktober mit. Für das
darauf folgende Jahr seien noch einmal so viele geplant, fügte sie hinzu.
Gegenwärtig arbeiteten etwa 75 Menschen in dem Bereich, erklärte ihr Bruder und
Stellvertreter Peter Leibinger. In acht Jahren sei eine halbe Milliarde Euro

Siemens erhält Auftrag für Windkraftanlage in Kroatien
Siemens hat sich einen Auftrag über die Lieferung von Windturbinen für das
Windkraftwerk Zadar VI Extension in Kroatien gesichert. Es soll eine
installierte Gesamtkapazität von 44,2 Megawatt haben. Der Auftrag umfasst die
Lieferung und Montage von 13 Windturbinen des Typs SWT-3.4-108 sowie einen
langfristigen Servicevertrag für 14 Jahre. Die Turbinen werden auf Stahltürmen
mit Nabenhöhen von 79,5 Metern installiert. Die Lieferung ist für das erste

Nissan completes takeover of Mitsubishi
Nissan Motor said on October 20 it has completed a deal to take a controlling
stake in Mitsubishi Motors and would be retaining the embattled automaker's
chief executive to ensure its recovery from a mileage cheating scandal. Nissan
has agreed to make a 237 billion yen (2.29 billion dollar) investment to
acquire a 34 percent stake in Mitsubishi, making it the single largest

Tesla installs autonomous-driving technology in all new cars
Electric-vehicle manufacturer Tesla plans to equip all its models with
autonomous-driving technology. All new Tesla cars will now have eight cameras,
up from just one, upgraded ultrasonic and radar sensors with a higher range and
dissolution, as well as 40 times more processing power in their computers,
Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced late on October 19. The corresponding software

Autoliv invests in test center
U.S.-Swedish automotive supplier Autoliv is intensifying its activities in the
field of active safety systems. The company built a test center on a former
airbase of the U.S. Air Force near Würzburg, Germany, to test its products in

Altran acquires Benteler Engineering Services
Altran, a French provider of development services, is buying Benteler's
Engineering Services division. Altran is currently repositioning itself in
Germany and hopes to consolidate and raise its market share in the country with
the acquisition. The customers of Benteler include automakers like BMW,
Volkswagen, Volvo, Ford, Porsche and Daimler, as well as large suppliers.

Trumpf expands 3D-printer business
Machine tool manufacturer Trumpf is strengthening its 3D-printing machines
business. 100 new jobs in the "additive manufacturing" unit will be created at
the company's Ditzingen site in the current fiscal year ending June 2017, said
CEO Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller on October 19. The same amount of jobs will be
created in the following year as well, she added. The unit currently employs
about 75 people, explained her brother and deputy-CEO Peter Leibinger. He said
that the new business could be expected to create revenues of about 500 million

Siemens receives order for wind power plant in Croatia
Siemens won a contract for the wind turbine supply of the Zadar VI Extension
onshore wind project in Croatia, which is planned to have a total installed
capacity of 44.2 megawatts. The contract includes the supply and installation
of 13 wind turbines of the type SWT-3.4-108 as well as a long-term service
agreement for 14 years. The turbines will be installed on steel towers with hub
heights of 79.5 meters. Delivery is planned for the first half of 2017.
