Hello everyone:

Further to my note this morning, Les VE3KFS, our Repeater Committee chair advises me that it was deteriorating over the weekend. I hadn't noticed it particularly, although I thought the 'growl', as some described it, was getting worse. Les says that Don has probably pulled the transmitter and receiver already. So, the repeater will be up when it's up.

In light of the current repeater situation, I am cancelling tonight's net. While it could be done on a simplex frequency, which one? (146.52 is an international calling frequency. 146.94 reverse? Perhaps, but does everyone know how to activate that capability on their radio? You may be surprised how many apparently don't.) Also, Bill VE3NFU, the scheduled controller for tonight, only has an indoor antenna so he definitely needs the repeater to be heard.

As there won't be a net tonight, may I remind everyone about the meeting tomorrow night. For details, see the November Newsletter at:

Cheers & 73s,

Steve VE3KC
