Hello everyone:
Rob, thanks for posting Marnie's note. She called me to say she had
tried to send it to the list but she didn't know if it would work.
Obviously not from her address. She asked me to apologize on her
behalf for not letting us know sooner. She said that the stroke
hasn't affected Doug's speech or his physique and you wouldn't know
looking at him that anything had happened. Apparently, the stroke was
centred in the Thalamus gland which explains the memory loss. Doug is
in Connell 369 and Marnie said he can have visitors. She said he can
no longer live on his own so is on the waiting list for a nursing
home bed. He'll stay at KGH until one is available, which based on my
own experience with my Mom, could be awhile. Let's hope not for his sake.
Dave, Doug's grandson, Marnie's son, Shane, is licensed. His call is
VE3UYH but I don't think he's active.
