For those interested in trying to contact the International Space Station or 
Space Shuttle, here are the frequencies in use.

FM VOICE for ITU Region 2&3: North and South 
America-Caribbean-Greenland-Australia-South Asia
Downlink 145.800Uplink 144.490
FM VOICE Repeater (Worldwide) 
Downlink 145.800Uplink 437.800
AX.25 1200 Bd AFSK Packet Radio (Worldwide)

UHF Simplex (rarely used)

Here is a link for a real time tracker to show the Space Stations position over 
the earth
