This link includes flowcharts for programming the Baofeng series of
hand-held radios.
I prefer using the 'CHIRP' software via the USB programming cable, but
these charts make a nice addition to a go-bag or the glove compartment
of your car.

This link provide a much better "englished" manual for the UV-5R.

And last but not least, the software that is available from the Baofeng
site is adequate but not stellar. The famous CHIRP software is much
better. Ensure you have the latest build especially if you plan on
running it under Linux.
