Nice article Phil, but the figure is definitely not to scale. I don't think a prominence of 1AU is possible. This reminds me of the Hydro 1 colloqiuium last year discussing the Carrington event. Records are made to be broken after all. On another note I have been working on a couple prototypes for a hydro electric generator (over-shot water wheel). I also have been working on refurbishing a 1902 Norther Electric telephone with a dynamo in it. It has a receiver that was updated in 1935. Now everyone needs a new phone every 3-4 years. http://www.greenoptimistic.com/2010/03/09/build-small-scale-hydroelectric-generator/#.UtLsTX-9KK3 73s Alex VA3CUS ________________________________________ From: karc-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [karc-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] on behalf of David Casement [va3dac@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2014 9:03 AM To: karc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [karc] Re: Are we ready for something like this?
