Sorry...somehow Juno sent my message before I had completed it! On Date: Sun, 21 Jul 2002 09:18:45 -0400 Subject: [JA] empty message first From: Marie <A while back someone noted that if one sent an empty self-addressed message <each time mail was retrieved then that message would come in first. I adopted the >practice to help me delete spam. However I now notice that my self-addressed >empty message comes in first sometimes but often comes in second or third. Is >there something I'm missing? When are you sending yourself the message...if you send it AFTER you get the download, it won't work as well. I do this all the time. The trick is to send the message to yourself WHEN YOU "GET NEW MAIL" IN JUNO. i.e., your outgoing message goes as you empty your inbox on the Juno server, and (hopefully) will go in before anything new gets there. The first time you do this, you will download messages that do not have your "safe" message included. The next time you download (AND send a safe message at the same time!), you will get your safe message...and mine always come in first, once the routine is selected. To make it easy, I set up my own Email address in my address book with a two-letter "alias" (e.g., "xx" for your initials.) Then all I have to do is type the alias in the "Send To" Box and it's ready to go. I usually put the "safe" message in my outbox before I exit Juno, so it's ready to go in case I forget the next time I go to download mail...just be sure you click on the button to send AND receive mail.
