Thanks. I've done some poking around with minicom, and I don't have rxvt so far as I can tell. Minicom doesn't seem to want to run without a script. It keeps complaining that it can't find /dev/modem. I tried creating a directory with that name, but it didn't help. I also have to run minicom through the command line; it opens up, and then shuts down immediately in gnome.
