Just installed it and first scan finished.

First impression is that initial bootup is significantly faster.
FlightRadar24 still slowly loading.

Are you using the Windows firewall?

Why do you not use the free Microsoft Security Essentials.
It is the only one I use, and I do not have any slow down on my
WinVista/32 system, I will have a try on my Win8/64 system later.

This PC is definitely getting slower, despite not having to run
anything like FSX. I suspect the Avast anti virus prog is being a bit
over zealous.
I'll have to see if I can identify FlightRadar24 as a programme that
doesn't need to be scanned.
