We also have to keep in mind another trick that is often used.

 

When an email list is hacked the hackers may often start distributing stuff
like this but will pick one name at random from the hacked list. It could be
that it may not be Tom who has been broken into but someone who has him (and
other FS names) in their own address list.

 

Alas the only thing we can do is be cautious and delete posts from Tom that
are CC'd to lots of others.

If you also got this and opened it I suggest you run a system wide virus and
spyware check.
