It is also advisable to check in online and print out your own boarding
pass.

Don't you just love being ripped off?

We have to fly to Auckland in October, so that we're at least in the
same country when one of our daughters produces a grandchild.

The SIA fares were a pleasant surprise. Booked through a specialist
agent the were half that of any listed by the airline.

Now I've just booked the Flybe flights from here to Gatwick. When it
starts, the prices, for two, for the two legs, are £14 and £29, approx.
By the time I confirm, it has risen to £219.

To get to the checkout desk I have to pass through two other pages. On
one I have to confirm we have only one luggage hold bag each. On the
second I have to accept the two seat numbers they've allocated, or
choose others. I opt for those allocated. Going through those two steps
increases the total price to £262 !

I thought I'd read somewhere that the (your) govt was going to stop this
attempt to baffle us all, but no it carries on. It's quite like Nigeria,
where you first buy your ticket, then pay the same at checkin, so that
they'll let you board.

Off for the tranquilisers.
