word help

On my xp laptop, using jfw 4.51, and word 2003.  Here is what is happening.
When I open a new document, it is saying document 1 edit co.  What is the
co?  If I use the keys caps lock, shift, and the letter n, it says page
connect 1 sec1...  Normally I don't get the connect thing.  Does anyone have
any suggestions?  Is this connect thing in my document?  Thanks, Joy
