window class reassign

Hi Listers,
Has anyone used the window class reassign function of jaws?
Does it only work with custom controls or even standard controls?
I am learning VB and I have developed an sample application, Employee
Information.
In this application, their are 2 edit fields, 2 combo boxes & 4 command
buttons. I have assigned shortcut keysto all the controls for quick navigation,
but jaws reads only the shortcut keys assigned to command buttons and not the
combo boxes or edit fields.
So I thought I should reassign the classes using windo class reassign feature
of jaws.
But no luck, for the edit fields jaws shows a class type of thunderrt text box
or something like it. I assigned it to edit class, but jaws still does not
reads the shortcut keys.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
