Hi Gary,
thank you. I knew of this way to do it, but the fact is, on the web sites I
most often visit, information presented in this way turns out, when I learn
what it is wittier by struggling with the Jaws method of reading it, or by
asking a sighted friend, to be either something I understood intuitively
about the link, or something otherwise extraneous to my needs. So I've long
been more comfortable to do without that stuff. I'm sure I'd feel
differently if I visited more web sites where what's presented in these
things is more integral to the page they're on, but that isn't the case, for
me. So I'm fine with just disabling that stuff.

Again, thanks. I really do appreciate the presence of that Insert V context
menu for the flexibility it offers. This just isn't one of those instances
in which I'd prefer to use it.

Since you can miss information by turning these announcements off
permanently in Configuration Manager, I use Shift+Insert+v to turn them off
on a Web site by Web site basis. I have done this on many of the sites I
visit regularly where these announcements are just annoying and serve no
useful purpose.
