scedualiing recurring appointments in outlook 2003

Hello List. I have a question about recurring appoints. I would like to scedual my appoints that are recurring for example birthdays and meetings I am members of. I did not know if it is possible for I did not see a way to change it so that accurs more than once. If I could get some instructions about this that would be greatly appreasieated.
