No , the sender's address does not have to be in your address book to reply directly to him or her off-list. Just open the message to which you want to reply, and press Insert-Shift-R. This will send the message privately to the sender and not to the entire list.

Hi All, I just tried to reply off list to someone on another list using the latestJaws 9 and when I tried to send the message it said the address wasn't in myaddress book.
