Maybe someone else can confirm this, but I believe that SuperAntiSpyware cleans
registry items... I haven't yet reinstalled it on this new computer, so am not
100% sure, as I only got to use it briefly before my previous computer
exploded. But it's a very accessible program, and may very well help you out.
