reading by word with jaws 8

Hi,
When reading by word, the JAWS key along with the arrow keys works just fine.
However, when I use CTRL in combination with the arrow keys, reading is fine
vfor a few words and then, when I press the CTRL-arrow combination all I get is
that key combination repeated back to me.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
