This is a very basic IRC program, which was design back when the server
that FC would connect to was irc.the-bofh.com This probably won't
happen any longer, since the-bofh is supposed to have expired. The
owner may have renewed it again, but she has also purchased a different
domain, to which FC does not point.
You are welcome to try it, and if you come onto the new server, then
that's fantastic. Depending on if one of her opers has linked
the-bofh.com with BOFHNet.us, you'll be fine. I would like to suggest
that you use either BOFHNetIRC, or MIRC.
BOFHNetIRC is slightly harder than FC. It is not impossible, neither is
MIRC. If you download BOFHNetIRC (which you can do from
www.lava-net.com), the server address you want will either be
valhalla.mn.us.bofhnet.us, or irc.bofhnet.us ...
Either of those will work for you. The instructions for installing, and
configuring BOFHNetIRC are very simple. I'm not saying that because I've
been using MIRC for over two years now and am quite familiar with it.
It is, quite simple to use.
