I Experience this as well, but only intermittently. Usually it is when I
try to open something like a pdf that seems to take too much of my systems
resources. I thought it was because of the file size or something because
it does not do this with all files. It has happened when doing other things
like setting the preferences for winamp after having done several hours of
work. Once I rebooted I had no problem with winamp preferences, however, if
a file in pdf format causes me this problem once, it always does. I thought
I was under powered with too little ram.
My computer is a Toshiba Satellite pro 650 mhz, 256 ram, XPHome, and jaws 5.
While I can not say definitely, I do believe this problem started with jaws
5. I do know it has happened much more since the autumn of 2003.

Hope someone can shed some light.

Subject: overheating

HI,I am using jaws 5 with XP on a Dell inspiron 8200. After using the laptop
for 20 to 40 minutes,it overheats, fan comes on. Jaws is very sluggish while
fan is running. Fan does not shut off.
My sighted partner uses laptop for hours, with no overheating. I did not have
this problem with jaws 4.5.1 .
Any suggestions?
thanks
Peter
