Okay, I should have tried a few other things before saying it did not work. It certainly does work. fantastic too.
won't go into what I did wrong, just that I went back in, into calendar, alt/v for view, right arrowed and then down to active, bang zoom, it works like a champ.
boy, this is the kind of stuff I am looking for. real help to me. thanks again,J. Black
