Alicia,
There is actually an option that needs to be unchecked. I believe it is
something like allow multiple documents. I think it was in the windows tools
menu. I had this problem once a couple of years ago and it turns out that I
had accidentally disabled the ability to have multiple documents open at the
same time. Sorry I cannot be more specific, but that was the gist of the
problem.

The worksheet files are 54.4 kb and the textbook file is 65.78 kb. I have a 
machine that is running 512 of RAM. I know I need to toss in another stick 
because I bought this computer a year ago and I have not added any memory 
sticks to it since I bought it.
