Just to chime in, what I meant to mention in an earlier post was this very
thing. I'm in Jaws 7.0, and every item in that list announces "check box,
not checked" before it speaks the item. As if these things weren't enabled.
Yet practically every one of them adds that the database is updated and
current, the scan has been done and is scheduled again for the same time
tomorrow, and so forth. In other words, the unchecked check boxes don't
indicate that the function is disabled. I guess Jaws is getting the state
of these check boxes wrong, don't you think so?

Cathie, are you using Jaws 7? With jaws 7, it says not checked (or on a
couple of items checked). With Jaws 7.1, it just reads a graphics number.
Anyway I asked Tom to look. And guess what? For some reason Jaws says not
checked on items that are actually checked. There were two items it said
checked that actually have a red exclamation in front of them. That is
because I need to update my definitions and just haven't cause I have been
busy.

I followed Debbie's instructions to the point of pressing f3 and a list of 7
items came up. My question has to do with this list. Most items are said not
to be checked , however I also hear that it did a scan today and is
scheduelled to do the next scan tomorrow, as well as items being fully
functional. So why does it say not checked prior to these items? I am
concerned as I do want my emails scanned and to this point all incomming
email had the little certification "scanned by AVG".
