hi, may I ask Cheryl, which version of jaws you are using? if you are using any version prier then 8.0, I don't think the checkbox will be announce for the message rules. if my memory sirve me right, older version of jaws does not announce that, someone please confirm me this. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warmest Regards, Allan Wong From: Ray Campbell Sent: Thursday, May 29, 2008 23:28 To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: message rules? Hi Cheryl: When you are going through the list of message rules you have, is JAWS saying "checked" before each one? If it is, then what you should do is hit space bar on a rule you want to check, press tab, then press shift tab and you should hear the new status of the rule, checked or not checked. If JAWS won't say the state of a rule, checked or unchecked, then you are just going to have to hope they are checked. By default, rules are checked when created I believe. Hello Depending on where you would like to put these folders here is what you do. Say for example you would like to put them inside your inbox folder. Put your focus on the inbox folder and press the control and shift key together and then press the letter E. A dialog box will open asking you to give a name to the new folder. Then you go into your tools menu and press enter on message rules. Then enter on mail. Press the tab key until you here new, press enter on it. Here you can arrow down and hear the different rules you have available to you. Now depending on how you would like to set up these rules check the box that fits your needs by hitting the space bar. Next tab once to the next condition of rules and arrow down through here and check the one that fits your needs. Next tab once to define your rules that you have checked. Arrow down until you hear your first rule that you selected and press enter on it. If you chose the message from people then you must enter the e-mail address of the sender and add it to the list. When finished press the ok button. Next arrow down until you come to your next rule condition and press enter on it. If you chose move it to folder brows to your folder that you created and hit the ok button. Next tab once more and give your rule a name. Next tab once more and hit on the ok button. Now you can apply this rule right now on messages already in your inbox. Press the space bar on apply this rule and tab down until you come to apply now. Then tab until you come to the ok button again and press the space bar. Your done. Hope this helps you Robert To find me you can do the following.
