I've gone to Settings/control Panel/Internet Options. I've gone to the
Security tab. I've tabbed through its few options, a couple of times, and
find no reference to what you describe below. To be honest, after using
Internet Explorer for years, I don't even know what you mean by "information
bar." Is it possible you're talking about the IE Toolbar? If so, what is it
about this that annoys or inconveniences you?

Anyway, all I find on the Security tab of the Internet options menu is stuff
having to do with internet zone and security levels, and nothing like what
you describe below. Am I missing something?

thanks,
Daniel

Hi folks,
if you find this as irritating as me, the good news is you can knock this
information bar off.

Go into the security settings in internet options, select customise and in
file download sections, enable prompt for download and good bye inf bar.

Tom
