Gery, just curious, do you have jaws start with windows on that windows 2000
system? Recently somebody on JFWLIte reported a problem that the alt
control delete dialog wouldn't speak after he exited jaws and restarted it
on a 2000 machine.
I pointed him to a technical support notice on how to start jaws as a
service. This resolved the problem he was having, I'm not sure it applies
to your situation but thought I would mention it.

If JAWS is already running, unload it. Type "net start jfwservice" (without
the quotes) in the run dialog.
You must have the Automatically Run JAWS at Start option enabled in the JAWS
Basics dialog.
