jaws repeated echo of high-lighted text in notepad and internet explorer

Okay.
My last message was not so clear.
In notepad, when I focus the cursor on any individual letter, the letter =
begins echoing over and over again.
The same thing occurs in forms mode in internet explorer in edit fields =
with text. Typing in a search term for example. I don't see this =
phenomenon anywhere else like Microsoft word or the desktop.

Using jaws 5.0.
windows xp professional on a network.
this is at work so there's quite a few computers on the network
I don't see this behavior at home or anywhere else for that matter.
I did get the suggestion about going into accessibility and changing the =
cursor blink rate to zero.
I merely wondered if anyone else had suggestions or had observed similar =
behavior from jaws.
