hello gene.
I never did anything to the jfw.ini file depending on the fact that jaws 
selects the default audio device automatically. can you tell me how I can 
edit that file?

What I do is to let the system boot without starting Jaws. Once the system
is up I start Jaws with my hot key. This sends the output to the correct
sound card as selected in the jfw.imi file.
