Paste special can be used in Excel to link to additional pages of a work sheet. Copy a cell, go to edit/paste special, tab to link, and the link is pasted, showing the content of the cell.

Hi,
In Microsoft Word's Edit menu, you have, among other things, Paste and Paste Special. The paste function will place an item from the clipboard into your document; we all know what it does. Paste Special, as I explained in my previous post, is supposed to do the same thing but with the added ability to transfer the items attributes as well, including font, font size, font color, other character attributes and text alignment et cetera. I've never tried handling web content in this way, so, I mentioned that it could work but since I haven't seen it do that, I'm only guessing here.

Tom,

this is what is so neat about this list. I never knew there was a paste special choice in edit menu. What exactly does paste special do other then copy other fonts?

Hey thanks,

I noticed that jaws doesn't always copy font attributes from IE 7 to Word XP. I.e. if the website has a different font size, jaws won't copy the font size over to word XP (Word just makes it whatever size is it's default). Is there any way to change this to make word fully use the actuall IE font size?

Just a guess here. Have you tried going into the Edit menu and using Paste Special instead of Paste? If my understanding is correct, all of the text attributes should be carried over with the Paste Special operation.

Hope this helps.
Tom
