jaws 8 and windows live

Heya folks,
I get annoyed when someone sends me a message in windows live messenger and
if I'm just away from my PC it repeats for example John says... John says...
John says... For quite awhile to I get to the message its quite annoying
when I'm listening to some music for example, is there a way I can disable
this annoying feature? Ive tried all the Jaws V options for messenger
nothing seems to stop it
Any help would be a preciated
